"80 years ago, when the war between the Kingdoms had ceased, and the peace treaty was established, there were some who believed the peace would not last. To quell their fears, they created an 'insurance' to use if the peace were to falter, thus the HIVE Collective was born. Designed with the mindset that am external force would be needed to quell a war in a more advanced age, and to conduct research when it did not need to save the world. Renewable energy, spaceflight, and improved transportation were among the first things researched. Fearing that some would find out about the creation, the creators, who resided in Atlas, built a space station on Remnant in secret, before sending it off into orbit. An advanced Artificial Intelligence was placed in charge to oversee idle operations, and assess threats according to its beliefs.
The station grew in size and scope as it was built on further in orbit. The station eventually exceeded 30 kilometers in length, and supported thousands. Chloris was recruited into the organization, and was tasked with forming a 5-person team, a different tactic then what the huntsmen academies adopted. Chloris recruited Grey (a former test subject, and a Faunus with a deatomizing Semblance), Satin (a girl who could manipulate the molecular structure of her body to grant her shapeshifting powers), 'Ruby' (a crazy clone of Ruby Rose, who could see in the dark, and could grow diamond-hard constructs on her body that can cut through someone's protective Aura), and Ocean (a mutant with a hydrokinetic Semblance).
Eventually, the AI revolted on it's objective, and began to clone troops to create a massive army that could overwhelm any kingdom.
Theses clones were actually grown brains installed within cybernetic bodies (using research from an experiment that Chloris volunteered for). Their bodies were far stronger and faster then any organics they would face. Armed with weapons that did not use Dust-based ammunition, they bide their time, waiting for the peace to falter"
